A Randomized Trial of the Effects of 1 Year of Exercise Training on Computer-Measured ST Segment Displacement in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease
نویسنده
چکیده
As part of a randomized trial of the effects of 1 year of exercise training on patients with stable coronary artery disease, 48 patients who exercised and 59 control patients had computerized exercise electrocardiography performed initially and 1 year later. The patients who had exercise training as an intervention had a 9% increase in measured maximal oxygen consumption and significant decreases in heart rate at rest and during submaximal exercise. ST segment displacement was analyzed 60 ms after the end of the QRS complex in the three-dimensional X,Y and Z leads and utilizing the spatial am-

Coronary Artery Spasm During Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography: A Case Report
Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) has been widely used as a diagnostic and prognostic modality in the management of stress. DSE is associated with limited complications and adverse effects on the health of patients. In this case report, we described a 42-year-old female patient with dobutamine-induced coronary artery spasm with history of exertional dyspnea, which had deteriorated recent...
متن کاملEffects of Exercise Training and Consumption of Fenugreek Seed Extract on Expression of Oxidised LDL and ROS-related Genes in Patients with Coronary Artery Occlusion
Background and objectives: Sedentary life style and high-fat diet are one of the key causes of coronary artery disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of periodic exercise and consumption of fenugreek seed extract on the expression of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) genes in patients with coronary artery occlusion. Methods: The present ...
متن کاملMultiple myocardial bridge in a 59 year-old woman
Introduction: Myocardial bridging is a congenital condition in which a segment of a major epicardial coronary artery has an intra myocardial route. Myocardial bridging is usually confined to a single vessel and is typically the mid segment of the left anterior descending artery. Bridging may be associated with chest pain, myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death, or usually asymptomati...
متن کاملEffects of 12 months of intense exercise training on ischemic ST-segment depression in patients with coronary artery disease.
This study was undertaken to determine whether adaptation to 12 months of intense endurance exercise training could alter the relationship between the product of heart rate and systolic blood pressure (double product) and the extent of ischemic ST-segment depression during exercise in patients with coronary artery disease. True (i.e., not symptom-limited) maximum oxygen uptake capacity increase...
متن کاملEffect of one Bout Continuous Versus Intermittent Aerobic Exercise on Plasma Levels of Intercellular Adhesion Molecules 1 and Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecules 1 in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease
Introduction: Adhesion molecules play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and the type of training may affect the response to these indicators. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of a continuous versus interval aerobic training session on plasma levels of intercellular adhesion molecules 1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecules ...
